Pretender

The Great Pretender

Oh yes, I'm the Great Pretender,

Pretending I'm not in sin.

I go around, all over town.

No one knows the state I'm in.

Oh yes, I'm the Great Pretender,

I'm not all that I should be.

I hope and I pray, that someday,

Jesus will come in my heart, sset me free.

 When you call my name,

I hide my shame.

For on my heart sin has formed a blot.

And though you may stare,

Still, you're not aware.

I'm pretending to be what Iím not!

Oh yes, I'm the Great Pretender,

And not really what you see.

Maybe in time, the truth I will find

And be all that I should be.

Oh yes, I'm the Great Pretender,

Pretending there is nothing wrong.

If you'd look through my eyes,

You would soon realize.

I'm not really that strong.

Oh yes, I'm the Great Pretender,

I've a sickness that hides deep inside.

Please Jesus come in,

And free me from sin.

And forever in me abide.

My pretending is all done,

I'm gonna walk in the sun.

With Lord Jesus as my guide.
