Small Steps

Small Steps

I'm a new Christian, getting on my feet.

Making that uphill climb.

Learning from the Bible,

The Commandments I'll keep.

Taking one step at a time.

Small steps, I take but a few,

What once were six; now are seven.

Small steps, before I am through,

I'll be at the doors of Heaven.

The way is rough,

This I'm finding out.

For a while, I've got to go slow.

Testing the waters,

To see if sin is about.

One step is the way to go.

By going one step at a time,

I learned how to walk.

And now I am a child of God.

I must learn things again,

And build block by block.

Follow in the steps He trod.
